What the Stage One Adventure Package includes (and what each part does)
Modification packages are often styling exercises with a price tag. Stage One is not, quite — here is what each component does and whether it is worth having.
All-terrain tyres: the one that matters
If you fit nothing else, fit these. The standard Jimny tyre is a road-biased compound with a fine tread pattern that clogs almost immediately in mud. An all-terrain tyre clears itself and finds grip on wet grass, loose gravel and soft ground.
The Jimny’s off-road ability is limited far more by its tyres than by anything else. The cost is a few decibels of road noise and a small fuel economy penalty.
Caged roof rack and LED bar
The Jimny’s boot is small, so roof storage genuinely extends the car. The caged design matters: an open platform requires everything to be strapped individually, while a raised perimeter contains loads properly.
The LED bar is useful if you work or travel off-road after dark and decorative if you do not. Either way it must be wired through a switched, fused feed — check that it is, on any car you look at.
Snorkel
The honest version: most owners will never wade deep enough to need it. What it does deliver routinely is cleaner intake air in dusty conditions and confidence through standing water where you cannot see the bottom.
Worth having if you drive green lanes or farm tracks. Cosmetic if you do not.
Side steps and rear ladder
The Jimny is tall and short. Side steps make a real difference for children and for anyone with limited mobility. The ladder exists so you can load the roof rack without standing on the wing.
Why buy it fitted rather than build it yourself
Cost, mainly. Fitting at preparation stage is cheaper than commissioning the same work piecemeal, and it can be included in the finance figure rather than funded separately afterwards.
The counter-argument is legitimate: if you have strong opinions about wheels or want a different tyre, buying a standard car and specifying your own is the better path. We would rather sell you the car you want than the package we happen to fit.
